Fixing Rovena's Bee Part 2.1
OOC
The log is still not merged with the dream part. This will not be publicly linked and is intended for the players that participated only.
Jessica turns to Em. “How’s San today? Recovered?” she asks, quietly.
“Mostly. Still a bit shaky.” the Dragon responds, just as quietly.
Jessica nods, once, before turning her attention back to the proceedings. “You coming soul-diving, or just playing Operator?”
“Operator. And Facilities and Security.” Emily shrugs, “Girl Friday I guess.”
“Okay. So I’m not -planning- to burn through a lot of juice.” Jessica said.
Kyle nodded a greeting to Jessica and then moved to get into place where Arianwen had set things up.
“But…y’know how unpredictable these things get. You probably know what my vitals look like.” There is a short pause before Jessica adds “If I’m going over the top, can you shoot me up with Valium?”
Rovena heads to the table with most of the medical scanners attached to and runs her fingers over it. She listens to Jessica and Emily.
“I can do that.” Emily nods.
“Awesome.” Jessica doesn’t sound thrilled. “…I’d kill for a cigarette. But I bet that’s a bad idea for a buncha reasons.”
“You’re right.” Emily confirms.
Jessica glares at Em. “Do you ever get tired of being right?” She fires back, but there’s no real venom in it.
“Ariawen, can you set me up first?” Rovena asks the woman with a faint but warm smile.
Emily gives Jessica a sad smile, “Yes. Often.”
Arianwen flits between triple checking the equipment and helping the dreamers get ready.
Dui decides there is some down time for her so makes her way to corner with her back pack. She takes from her regular back pack a set of jacks and a ball…. sits on the ground and watches the rest of the group and listens intently but doesn’t begin playing. “Where’s Vorig…what ever happened to Vorig?” she mumbles to herself
Most of the sensor involved are wireless and come with a handy ‘how to’ guide to ensure the dreamers can place them correctly if they don’t want anyone else doing it for them, something Ari would be happy to assist with.
Jessica eyes Arian. “How much of this is getting recorded for ‘the models’?” she asks Em.
Kyle remained where he needed to be for the procedure and started attaching the sensors, by his motions he seems fairly comfortable with the setup.
Only the sensor circlet each of them will wear comes with wires connect each dreamer to the interlinked computer stacks that form the hub. A slight menacing but ‘honestly harmless’ device points at each of the prepared beds as well as a pair of cameras.
Rovena answers Jessica’s question too. “The dream state gets recorded but I will be the only person to see it.”
“Yeah. Right.” Jessica replies, skepticism tinging her words.
“I don’t know, actually. I’m not that familiar with Harry’s dream tech. I’m not sure our new management is as interested in models.” Emily responds.
“Each rig is set to record in isolation. At the end of the process you can each tell me if I can retain the data or if you want it purged, Dreams are a very private thing and I take handling data about them seriously.”
Dui doesn’t look up “Daimon is but he won’t get Rov’s dream’s not if I can help that.”
Jessica flicks a Look at Arian. one of cynicism and skepticism. “I’m sure.” She sighs, and looks around for somewhere to hang her coat. Failing to find a coat-stand, she opts to drape it over a beep-booping server stack. With that done, she finds a bed.
“I was wondering how long you were going to stand that coat in this heat.” Emily comments.
“Clothes make the woman.” Jessica retorts.
Emily looks at her t-shirt and trousers and chuckles
“Here” Arianwen says to Jessica. “You can set a destination for the signal to be uploaded to, set whatever password you want. The only data I’m recording personally is how the equipment and procedure operates.”
Dui sets the ball and jacks aside and decides to discard her boots for more comfort, settling in to a long evening. Then goes back to her Ball and Jacks game in the corner. “Ariawen, the bags of leaves on other table can help augment dream and psychic states if needed…” Dui barely looks up mesmerized by the thump click, thump thump click of the ball and jacks as she plays. Her rhythm almost meditative. Her misses rare.
Julia stands by the entrance, quietly looking over the proceedings. She has her rifle out, stock to her shoulder, safety on with the weapon lowered. She leans against the wall.
She regards Arian with that same skepticism. “I don’t want a copy. I want it destroyed. I hope you’re telling the truth, Arianwen. You can understand my caution.”
“Si, no copies please.” Julia adds, passively from her place by the exit. She has a polite, professional smile.
“I can and that’s why I don’t lie about this stuff. I need a lot of test subjects to improve this technology and I won’t get those if I play fast and lose with the truth about the data I keep.” She tried to smile but she knew it was unlikely she’d say or do anything to inspire anything more than a sliver of trust.
Thump, thump click.. the ball and jacks continue to make their light meditative sound
“I think a lack of test subjects will be the least of your worries.” Jessica replies, quietly.
“Jessica, please …” Emily says.
“Perhaps Jessica you could trust Rovena instead of upsetting the balance of the scientist implementing the technology.” Dui asks. Thump, Thump Click
Kyle listens quietly to the conversation surrounding them but that’s all his doing.
“No, no. That’s quite alright. I think threats or perhaps promises of retribution are quite in order considering the situation.” Arianwen adds.
A lip curls. “I’m not here to be trusted. I’m not here to be nice, or to play along or to join forces in the name of the greater good. I’m the hatchetwoman. I’m here to pull the fucking trigger on Rov’s soul if needs be. So don’t give me any of that hug box crap. I’m here to do my job.” She takes the circlet, and settles back.
Arianwen fixed her gaze on Jessica. “I promise I’ll wipe this data. You have my word and whatever oath I can give that you’ll consider convincing.”
Jessica nods, curtly. She settles back into the crash couch, and goes to place the ‘trode circlet on her head. “What do you need me to do? This isn’t my first time going souldiving.”
Dui maintains her concentration on the beat of the ball , and the clicks of the jacks making sure it remains tight and almost melodic [ Emily glowers impartially
“It’s only a shared dream, not anything as invasive as souldiving but you and Kyle will be entering Rovena’s dream so most of what you’ll perceive will be conjured up by Rovena’s mind.” She steps back and looks at all three dreamers. “I’ll be monitoring from out here but it takes time for the software to translate the readings so I’ll only have the most basic idea of what is going on right away but we’ll all be monitoring your vitals.”
“And I will try to conjure up my mind. My memories.” Rovena adds.
“I’ve got the translation software clued up to look for any readings that indicate dangers or hazards you may be encountering so we can be ready to wake you if we need to but hopefully that won’t be necessary.”
She nods, and takes the blackened, fused Makarov from her hip and clasps it to her chest.
“Let me know when you’re starting and I’ll activate the wards.” Emily asks them.
“Pulling me out needs to be a last case scenario,” said to Arianwen and Kyle gives her a faint smile.
“I can probably get myself out if I have to. I’d rather not. Em knows about my issues…if I look like my heart is behaving oddly…don’t worry about it” Jessica informs them.
“Same, in regards to be able to pull myself out. So the rest of you focus on Rovena.” Kyle adds.
Nessa chews on her lower lip, then glances over to Emmy. “Do you wish to take primary care of Ms. Vanderbilt?” [ “Well I mentioned it during the prep phase but there is the chance that when the anima starts building up that the dream could become virtually real. You get hurt in the dream, your body gets hurt to though perhaps not as heavily. Disentangling you from Rovena’s dream will be very disorienting without having to cope with possible injuries too so please try to be careful and not unnecessarily heroic.” She smiles back.
“Yeah, I’ll leave the heroics to Top Gun over there.” Jessica waves at Kyle. “I’m just here for the killing.”
“Do I need to be ready to back up heal in that case?” Emily asks.
“I’m going to do what I have to do, to help her. That’s all. Scouts honor.” Kyle says.
thump, thump click..thump thump click. Dui keeps up the rhythm.
Nessa continues preparing her supplies – an odd mix of modern medicine and what looks like typical Vodun paraphernalia. “If need be, I can ask Papa Legba to intervene, but…I would prefer to leave that as a last resort. Being a Horse is…uncomfortable.”
“Just let me know when you’re ready.” Eboni says to the group at large, as she runs her fingertips over a red glass bead that’s hanging from a silver bracelet at her left wrist.
Julia remains by the door. She gives Eboni a nod as she enters, and then refocuses on the goings on.
“A horse?” Ari half smirks but now’s not the time to expand on that thought.
Eboni offers a grin to Julia. “Big gun.”
“For de Loa to ride upon. Or…in…as is perhaps a more descriptive term.” Vanessa’s Creole accent is a little thicker than usual.
“Alright, I think I am ready.” She looks over to Kyle and Jessica. Then she whistles to a bird like artifact she pulls from a pocket. “Put me to sleep and have them join me. Then start Eboni.”
“Great. Nothing like an audience.” Jessica comments. She nods, once, at Rov and tries to catch Em’s eye.
“Always” Julia offers with a smirk. The Latina remains against the side of the door, her weapon lowered. “Here just to aid in security, and ensure Senora Vanderbilt’s wishes are met.” Her tone reserved but polite.
“If that’s what it mean, yeah I agree. Being a horse can be rough. Not a thing I want to try again.” Ari admits.
Emily looks at Jessica and raises an eyebrow.
Dui continues with playing jacks in the corner in a melodic, rhythmic manner. The ball and jacks sounding on the tile a soft ….thump click….thump thump click
Kyle swings up onto one of the tables and lays down.
Ari casts the gaze of her glowing augmetic eye over the machinery one last time, ensuring all is as it should be, connections made, sensors recording, batteries fully charged up and emitters in tune. “Alright, the tech is good to go and now comes the hard part. Falling asleep.”
Jessica meets Ems gaze for a moment…then closes her eyes, and settles back on the couch.
Once the meds and the artifact start to work, Rovena falls asleep, really quickly. She never did this fast in the past year.
Eboni lifts up the buckskin bag, and unties it. She watches as Rovena begins to fall asleep, as she absently removes a half-stick of chalk and a bone fish-hook. She eyes the edge of the hook, and begins to run the chalk over her palms.
“You have something to help me sleep, Ari?” kyle asks.
Vanessa sticks a number of probe pads to the skin over Rovena’s major arteries to monitor her vital signs, clipping wires to the portable EKG monitors and strapping the wires in place so they won’t pull too much.
“Medication won’t interfere with the process though I usually avoid it in my studies. I think a lil bit of chemical assistance won’t go amiss though I think you’ll find it easier to sleep than you think.” Aria tells him.
Emily eyes Eboni curiously.
“Fair enough. I’m ready.” Kyle settles down and closes his eyes.
“Emmy can you do me a favor?” Dui asks.
“Sure.” the Bloodmage responds.
The ball and jacks continue sounding softly on the tile ….thump click….thump thump click “Bring me the plastic bag of leaves on the table.” her head nods in the direction .. as she continues playing jacks. “they’re marked and spread them around me.”
Emily nods, and goes to fetch Dui’s bag off the table. She gives the contents a curious sniff before spreading them around Dui. “That good?”
Eboni looks to Emily with a raised brow, but sees Dui take her attention and returns to her items.
Dui explains…and smiles to Emmy “It’ll help ground my rhythm.”
“Let me know when they’re all good and asleep, please.” Eboni says, closing her eyes, and beginning to murmur a soft, slithering string of serpentine syllables.
As Rovena drifts off to sleep, Kyle and Jessica begin to feel something, a gentle pulse of energy, like a second heartbeat pulsing softly all around them, like a warm a cozy blanket surrounding them. Transmitted by the arcane working of Arianwen’s machines, Rovena’s sleep spreads to the pair like a soothing embrace, like a slowly rising tide, like creeping plague of slumber…
Emily smiles at Dui as she spreads the leaves. “And if everyone is ready, I’ll activate the wards.”
Kyle doesn’t fight it, he closes his eyes. It takes a few minutes but soon he’s asleep.
Jessica doesn’t fight it either, seeming to easily slip into the slumbering trance - as if practiced.
Vanessa nods, not meeting anyone’s eyes, and begins tracking the monitors of the Dreamers, making sure all the electrodes and neural nets are in the correct places and secured, just in case one of them starts thrashing in his/her sleep.
Eboni steps over to where Rovena rests, and steps about her body, still fingering that small glass bead at her wrist. “Are the wards prepared?”
“Yes. Just need to activate them.” Emily answers.
The witch nods and begins to run her palms gently over Rovena’s face, painting it white with the chalk. She’s meticulous in these details, taking her time as she moves to cover every small inch in a layer thick enough to be reminiscent of a geisha.
Arianwen becomes entirely focused on the dreamers and the technology linking them. Here and there she makes tiny adjustments to the hardware stacks, either electronically or by physical tweaking some of the machinery. A few minutes go by, adjustment then checking the readings, adjustment, readings, adjustment readings until she seems satisfied everything is running as well as it can.
Vanessa slips aside to allow Eboni access to her patient, then murmurs hesitantly, “I…may I…inquire as to the nature and purpose of this chalk? I do not wish to interfere with anything you are doing, and I believe communication may be efficacious in this situation.”
[The ball and jacks continue sounding softly on the tile ….thump click….thump thump click
“It’s to prevent her body from burning itself up and being consumed.” Eboni whispers, with the slightest of glances towards Vanessa; not impolite; she’s simply in the moment.
“Thank you. I…I like to…to know things.” Vanessa watches Eboni’s hands intently, curiosity on her features. Or perhaps it’s just a way of avoiding eye contact, her body language subtly submissive even if her hands are confident as she checks the monitoring devices again.
“This is a claw from a squid. We’ll use ink to paint the runes…” Eboni whispers, as she lifts Rovena’s right hand, and begins to drag the sharp claw across the Ulnar artery. “This is the simplest, least distracting way to infuse her; directly into her system.”
Emily tilts her head, intently watching Eboni work.
The beat of Dui’s ball and the clicks of the jacks have decidedly become even more focused.
The blood flows out into Rovena’s palm, pooling, but it stops with a hiss from Eboni. The small woman dips a fingertip into the supplied ‘ink’, and begins to paint a small pattern across the German’s face. A crescent moon at the right cheek, a downward triangle at the right cheek. “That’s a kite shield.” She remarks absently, before dipping her fingertip once more, and drawing an eye on her forehead. She presses a small red dot between the eye and each of the symbols, before adding three in a vertical line down her chin.
“Dreaming and defense and…a third eye for insight and visions?” Vanessa asks curiously, then hastily adds, “If you need any assistance, please let me know. Otherwise, I will try not to interfere, and to watch and learn.”
“Now, we’ll do the other wrist.” Eboni says, and then her full lips curl into a grin. “I feel as if I’m a surgeon. Nobody drop a junior mint..” And the squid claw pulls across Rovena’s opposite wrist. The thin red lines do not bleed. She pulls her hands back, and plucks the red glass bead from her own bracelet. “Very astute, miss Sinclair.” She crushes the glass bead, as a golden, honeyed liquid falls into the air, turning about itself. Those touched by Gaia would begin to hear the buzzing. They would feel the warmth.
“De symbols…” Vanessa pauses, then pushes the Creole out of her accent until it’s much fainter, “The symbols are similar in many Paths.”
Emily sniffs slightly at the smell of blood.
“The Immaculate Machine.” Eboni whispers, as her finger guide the golden liquid to either wrist, and soon the red is golden. The faintest of lights begins to halo about the wounds, as the witch offers a kind, approving nods towards Vanessa. “That they are.”
Dui glances to See what Eboni is doing between pickups of the ball and jacks. Just a mere glance… “The mason jars on the table is enriched anima Eboni…help your self if you have need.” …thump click…thump thump click
“I’m going to fill her now. She’ll be brimming, so do keep in mind that whatever magical affects we place upon her could have an increased effect.” The veins in Rovena’s arms would become visible to all now, even those not touched by Gaia, glowing a golden red tint through the skin, as Eboni begins to work and pour the anima throughout Rovena’s person. “Taste and see…” She whispers amongst a slew of whispering words, most of which have long since been forgotten.
SYNC POINT 0
Rovena’s body tenses a little when the anima starts to enter it but soon she is relaxed again. Vanessa will notice it on her instruments, whatever Eboni is doing seems to work. The room temperature around her seems to drop a few degrees.
“Activate the wards, if you’ve not done so. She’ll be primed soon.” Eboni says, as her own eyes close. She bites into her lower lip, focusing.
“Emmy the Oak leaves…. Please.” Dui insists.
Without realizing it, Vanessa holds her breath for a moment, chewing on her lower lip before letting her breath out slowly, checking on the monitors for all three Dreamers.
Emily walks to the center of the room and raises her open hands to chest height, she pauses for a moment and then snap’s them shut. There’s the feeling as of heavy slabs dropping into place and the faint sounds of Shenzhen are suddenly distant and muffled. “Wards activated.” She says before going to fetch Dui’s oak leaves and strew them around the seated woman.
With everything running smoothly, or so it seems for now, Arianwen turns her attention to the readings and monitors. patterns and ripples fluctuate across one of the screens, symbols and words on another as the pattern recognition software identifies significant elements of the data and the translation program returns the symbols meaning.
Dui grins merrily almost excited as her stretch of uninterrupted jacks continues “Thank you.” she says softly
Eboni takes in a slow, sighing breath as she parts from Rovena. The wounds at her wrist have sealed shut once more. As the anima pushes through her system, all of her major vein systems would begin to glow in a similar fashion. Eboni steps back, nodding to the others. Though it lacked much in the way of ‘flash’, it’s obvious that it took a toll upon her. “All yours.”
“Is there anything you need to restore yourself that may be done here, Miss Eboni?” Vanessa asks.
“Not presently, miss.” Eboni shakes her head. “Just a tiring effort to force that into someone’s person. I’ll be fine after a night’s rest, and perhaps chocolate. I saw in a movie, once, that chocolate helps to restore the spirit.”
Ever prepared, Nessa slips to one of her suitcases and pulls out an unopened bar of dark chocolate, shyly offering it to Eboni. “It…it is…perhaps my one vice…”
Rovena’s anima levels are climbing rapidly and soon the cold becomes more obvious. Emily’s wards might register it already.
“One vice?” Eboni grins, and accepts the bar. “Not one of us has only one vice. Perhaps only one that we indulge, but more always lurk beneath the bleached clothing and smiles, love.”
Dui noticeably inhales deeply the scent of the oak leaves.. a shimmering golden aura under her camisole on her right side begins lightly pulsating. –Thump…click…Thump Thump click– Exhaling through her mouth the scent of the oak spreads throughout the room, adding to the protection wards the fierceness of a mother guarding her cub.
“Thank you, however.” Eboni tears it open at one end. “No golden ticket.” She murmurs, and breaks off a pip to eat.
Emily gives Eboni a grin at the mention of vices.
“Is…umm…is reading considered a vice then?” Vanessa glances toward Dui, obviously monitoring the woman’s status as well, then returns to Rovena’s side, indulging in a bit of hovering even if she can’t really do much at the moment other than check monitors compulsively.
“Depends on what you read.” Eboni remarks, offhand, as the chocolate melts onto the flat of her tongue. She offers another broken pip to Emily.
“I am not certain books on medical techniques and mystery novels count, then…” Vanessa offers.
Dui is happily transfixed on her jacks and ball… and her breaths
“Thanks.” Emily smiles and pops the square of chocolate into her mouth.
SYNC POINT 1
Without a short notice bloody whip marks appear on Rovena’s body, the crimson soaking into the fabric.
“Mystery novels are fun. Books on medical techniques…” Eboni teeters her hand in the air and groans out an “Ehh.” She nods in approval towards Emily’s acceptance, and looks back to Vanessa. “Mitch Albom is good. Five People is one of my favorites. L. Frank Baum is good. Penthouse Forum. George R. R..holy fuck.”
“Is anyone specifically on wound duty?” Eboni asks after a second.
“…Oh, dear.” Nessa moves to examine the wounds and goes to retrieve her backpack of medical supplies, zipping it open with brisk efficiency. “How advised is Anima-based healing, or should I keep to conventional techniques, Miss Eboni?”
Dui simply states “Vanessa, she’s the medical.” Thump click …thump thump click
“Probably gentler than my healing.” Emily lets them know.
“Use your anima to tend to her.” Eboni nods to Vanessa. “Just..do it at about a tenth of the usual dosage. Or her skin cells might replicate to the point that we’ll need to sell her to Aldini to get her carved out.”
“Anima based healing shouldn’t influence the dreambridge as long as it’s subtle, no big anima spikes. Any big surges of energy like that.. well let’s say I haven’t fully tested the system with handling them.”
“I shall leave that to a last resort, then. I am…I still have…much to learn.” Vanessa bends down, deftly slipping her hands through the various internal pockets as she pulls out a bottle of spray. “This is a coagulant, which will keep the wounds from bleeding too much. I will pin the worst of the tears together, as well, and apply temporary artificial skin. Please let me know if similar wounds appear on the others, as I will be distracted for a moment.”
“I can seal and help with these wounds if they grow out-of-control, as well.” Eboni offers.
Vanessa hesitates, then pulls out a roll of gauze, unwinding it to carefully drape over strategically important areas as she pulls Rovena’s robe aside, preserving the woman’s modesty. Then she moves to examine the wounds, her expression focused and intent without her usual hesitant submissiveness. In this aspect, at least, she has confidence.
The wounds close when tended to like they normally would, just a bit faster. Emily feels Rovena casting something, only for a second but the wards keep them save.
Absently, Vanessa nods an acknowledgment to Eboni. “It is appreciated to know there are those better at healing than I. My skills do not tend towards the…instantaneous…but instead encourage and increase the speed of more natural healing.”
“I’m no doctor, miss.” Eboni replies to Vanessa. “But I know my way around a wound or two. I’d put you on the front lines, and think of me as…healing support.”
Emily closes her eyes for a moment, “A fair amount of casting going on in there. It’s leaking a little.”
Using butterfly bandages, Vanessa pulls the worst of the rents together, then begins cleaning the blood away from the wounds, the coagulant having already stopped the bleeding. With the wounds clean, she reaches into her bag again for a can of NuSkin, spraying it over the whip weals to seal them. “I will let you know if they are becoming too injured for me to treat effectively, then. It may come to that.”
Dui simply states “Casting? Care to elaborate?” Thump click…Thump Thump Click
Eboni eats another pip of chocolate. “Now I’m the one eating candy during a medical display.”
“It is…it is not…very complex a technique. Really, any EMT can perform these sorts of tasks. She may need stitches on a few sections, but I am…holding off for now.” Vanessa explains.
“A bit of elemental energy leaked out. Felt like Rovena was casting. That’s assuming I understand the dream stuff correctly.” Emily tells them.
“How much danger do you suppose she’s in?” Eboni asks quietly, not taking her eyes off of Rovena for the moment.
“Usually everything stays nice and contained within the dreams but with this amount of anima involved some dream magic bleeding into the waking world seems inevitable without those wards.” Ari explains.
Dui focuses on the scent of the elm to reground herself into the beat and rhythm of the ball and jacks –Thump click…Thump Thump Click
The anima levels suddenly start to fluctuate and everyone knowing elemental magic will notice that Rovena is try to cast a lot attack spells.
“Not too … whoah. There’s a lot of attack casting going on.” Emily informs them.
“This isn’t good…” Eboni mutters, and as the anima increases, the blood-runes upon Rovena’s face would begin to glow with a dim light.
“Th-this is…beyond my experience.” Vanessa glances worriedly toward the mages in the room, her onyx eyes wide as she looks to them for direction.
Julia looks worrisome by the door. She says not a word, nervousness in her otherwise stoic gaze. She shuffles her shoulders around, unsettled as she watches on.
“This is kind of beyond mine. The wards should keep us safe out here.” Emily frowns, “I can’t control what goes on in the dream.”
So far the wards stay in place and the casting stops but this was close. The anima levels still are going crazy and seem to cause mild internal burns to Rovena’s system. The vitals of the other look still good.
SYNC POINT 2
Another round of adjustment and assessment of the readings begins by Arianwen. “I don’t want to dial things down too much or there’s a good chance of the connection failing and that could make it harder for Jessica and Kyle to focus.”
Nessa frowns at the monitors, not liking their readings, and takes out a stethoscope from her backpack. She listens intently to various points, then takes a breath and makes the decision not to interfere too heavily at the moment. The falterings in Rovena’s vital signs were worrisome, but not incapacitating at the moment and she didn’t want to interfere too much. “We will simply need to pray, at this point, I think…and hope that they are able to finish the matter before things get too out of control.”
Dui breathes in deeply focusing on the scent of the elm to focus her play – Thump click…Thump Thump Click
“Emmy the five white candles will provide harmonization.. Light them please.” Dui asks.
“Alright, lots of readings are spiking, vitals are good but also showing some stress. Things have livened up quite lot. Just trying to make sense of the translations. Something about broken seals, an explosion maybe. Progress and memories. Sneering perhaps?” Arianwen asks.
“Thank you for the updates, Miss Arianwen.” comes from Vanessa.
“If…necessary, could one of us jump in and join them?” Eboni asks with a look about the room. “To maybe help them out?”
“If it becomes necessary, I…I could ask Papa Legba to assist. He is the Loa of Crossroads, and this would fall within his purview.” Vanessa suggests.
“Dreambridge rig four is all good to go but this would be my first time trying to integrate another dreamer while there’s so much anima flowing through the connections. It could be a very -very- bumpy ride.” Arianwen informs them.
“Can you do that from here? We need you to maintain her condition.” Eboni asks.
Emily narrows her eyes and points at each of candles in turn, and in turn each of them smolders and small flame arises from the wick.
“I do not know. With the Loa, it is always up to them how they wish to aid or hinder. I can only ask.” Vanessa says. “…Anima levels are spiking and dropping. I think her Conduit…her Bee…is active again, but it is hit-or-miss at the moment. Let me see what I can do to smooth the flow.” She closed her eyes, chanting softly under her breath in Creole as she moves her fingers over Rovena’s body, gently touching and pressing along the Chakra points and then tracing connections between them.
A scent a mixture of lavender, cedaroood and a honeyed enriched anima arises in the room from the candles mixed with the burning of the Tong Ren gua for harmonization are a powerful combination.
“If it spikes again, ask.” Eboni says, pondering it over for several moments. “Failing that, I’ll go in, bumpy ride or not..”
“Ebony, Your spells what exactly should they be doing?” Dui asks.
Arianwen nods and begins to tune the fourth rig in ready just in case.
“Dui, could you assist in stabilizing the fluctuations in her Anima levels? I do not think they are responding to a more gentle nudge and I do not wish to push too much.”
The flow smooths a little and takes the heat off Rovena’s system. But now the Anima levels overall are dropping again.
“They’re charging here..supercharging her with anima, as she requested. The mask is put in place to help protect her a bit, a small shield to contain it and not burn her body away.”
“I’ll have to stop the beat… someone has to pick up with something..” Dui sweeps the jacks and the ball.. Stands and approaches the table. She enterwines her left hand fingers with Rovena’s left hand fingers careful of the medical leads in her.. and almost immediately the swirls of anima arise about her hand and envelope Rovena’s.
The anima levels stabilize for now but Dui has to channel a lot back and forth. One moment the bee draws a lot, then some is pushed back through Dui.
Nessa retrieves her Asson rattle from her other pile of equipment, stepping aside to let Dui work. The rattle in her hand goes thump-thump-rattle in the same rhythm Dui had been keeping up.
The earlier glow under Dui’s camisole…abruptly surges into a full blown golden glow. The swirls of golden anima around Dui’s hands leap into Rovena’s. Then back….into Dui and repeat.
“I can open her wrists again, and let you access the anima in her bloodstream to tether the two sources.” Eboni suggests “It would strengthen it.”
Dui begins deeply breathing in the scent of the lavender and cedar-wood from the burning candles to help stabilize a continual flow…Dui nods to Ebony ..“Yes.” Dui shakes noticeably as the flow reverts to her
The witch nods in return, and a wave of her fingertips causes the healed lines across Rovena’s wrists to reopen; the golden, anima-tainted blood is visible once more. It would immediately call to the flow between Dui and Rovena, attempting to guide it towards the slits.
“Let me know if I can support vitals or play anima battery if that’s needed.” Emily tells them.
Their attempts work and soon they have stabilized Rovena for now. The bee is still active, waking up and fixing Rovena, activity mostly in the brain.
SYNC POINT 3
“I could tether it to you, if Dui needs a break, but you’d have its full weight upon you.” Eboni stresses the impact of this in her tone. “Prepare for that, alright?”
“I Ah can keep this up almost indefiantley if…. I have enough Hematite..” just then a heamitte stone weighted from the transference of mass drops from underneath Dui’s skirt and dents the floor at her feet with a loud thud… Dui looks
“Gotcha, will do.” Emily says.
Nessa’s eyes continue watching the monitors, her rhythm continuing without pause. Thump-thump-rattle. “Yes. Please give her another hematite quickly.”
Emily sorts through Dui’s stuff, looking for more hematite.
The wounds on Rovena’s body start to open up again, one at the time. A lot torture wounds, as if someone is showing off all ways to torture someone at her.
Dui looks back to the rest “Fortunately…I ah brought quite a few.” under her skirt on the side of her hip is a strand of ten hematite stones banded together
Arianwen shook her head and frowned as muted warning beeps and buzzes came from the monitoring apparatus. Her hands moved automatically on reading the last dreambridge rig while her eyes took in the readings and translation screen. patters and words and ripples and swirls played across the displays.
She glances to Emmy “There maybe another strand in there..I sometimes keep for emergencies. I hope.”
Nessa hisses worriedly. “Someone else will need to take up the rhythm, please. I need to tend to them, and I cannot do both.”
Kyle releases a harsh grunt, pain too contorting his features and his hands clench at his sides.
Jessica’s heart rate climbs, fairly suddenly, and a faint glow starts to emerge from her hands and closed eyes and lips. She’s clearly drawing anima.
Eboni watches Emmy go for Dui’s supplies, and then casts an eye down to her own bag. “Show me the rhythm you’re using.” Eboni says to Vanessa, while rummaging through the bucksin bag.
“They’re fighting and throwing a lot of magic around in the dreamscape. I think we may have to step up out healing efforts but see if we can keep the anima levels low and steady so I can adjust the dreambridge to compensate. I think we really really really don’t want to feed the anima flows too much from out here.” Arianwen lets them know.
Vanessa glances around the room, then to Julia. “Please. Do you have a sense of rhythm? It might be best if you assist in that manner, as I think the others will become quickly occupied.” She shows the rhythm – Thump, thump, rattle.
“Should I just back off” Dui asks “Or maintain a trickle?”
Emily lays a hand on Jessica’s arm, worry showing in her frown and narrowed eyes.
Maintain the gentle link, but don’t push.” Eboni advises.
“Try to keep things as level as possible, I would advise?” Vanessa suggests.
“Exactly.” Eboni agrees.
“You can let it build a lil bit more but try to keep it steady even if there’s suddenly worse psychosomatic injury. Better they suffer through a bit longer with slow healing than we risk a convergence.” Arianwen says.
“Sure do.. maybe a bit of audiomancy can assist here.” Julia remarks, stowing her rifle over her shoulder. She paces on over to them, rolling a shoulder.
Nessa moves over to Julia, hesitates, then offers the rattle after a moment. “This is…sacred. But if you need it to assist with the rhythm, take it. I need to tend to their wounds, but anything can be used to keep up with the rhythm.” Thump-thump-rattle.
Jessica heart rate starts to fall again, but the anima-glow is still present. Whatever is happening in the dreamscape is requiring power.
The anima Dui is channeling subsides to a trickle amount enough to keep the link’s open…
“You’re more than capable of handling what needs to be done with the anima in her blood, should the need arise, Emily. Get a taste of it. Taste the scent of the honey-touched life in the air. If Dui can maintain that indefinitely, then I want you to be able to lock on to what’s in her veins, in case I’m not here.” Eboni says.
Julia accepts the rattle and looks it over. Just as requested, the Latina begins to conduct the rythem. ‘Thump-Thump-Rattle” She starts initially, emerald eyes cast down upon the sacred object. Her grip is firm, careful not to let it drop, nor stop. A faint tinge of anima courses through her, as of yet unspent.
Freed from the rhythm, Nessa practically sprints over to the trio of dreamers, tending to Rovena first. “Eboni, may I ask for your assistance or are you otherwise occupied? And…Emily, would you check on Ms. Vanderbilt when you have a moment?”
Dui gently builds the channel of Anima as suggested…. no surging just focusing on steady and grounded anima transference
“Of course. What do you need?” Eboni looks to Vanessa.
“I’m keeping an eye on Jessica.” Emily says extending a hand in Rovena’s direction as her nostrils flare at the scent of blood and anima in the air. She breathes in deeply, letting it fill her.
This wound is particularly deep. A puncture wound of some sort. It appears to have missed vital organs, but I do not care for how much it is bleeding. And this one…” Vanessa points to a long gash on Rovena’s thigh, “Is far too close to the femoral artery for my taste.” She begins working on the other wounds, applying burn salve and her analgesic spray liberally.
“Thank you, Emily.” Vanessa responds.
“Eboni, if you could take care of those two wounds… I am not certain how much I wish to heal her with Anima during the procedure, but the worst of the wounds should be healed before they begin weakening her.” Vanessa asks.
As Julia maintains the rhythm with one hand, the other drifts over the rattle. She wafts her digits across the air, getting a feel for some unseen variable. Her mouth slips ever so slightly ajar. The ‘Thump Thump Rattle’ Seemed to echo from her very lips as she harmonized with the soundwaves generated. She sought to amplify the effect of the rhythm. Her eyes were unmoving, standing as if a statue, transfixed with the single task of maintaining, and amplifying, this rhythm.
Eboni runs a fingertip over the puncture wound first, and the faintest hint of green light is visible in her eyes. “I’ll go slowly, so as to not overwhelm her Using methods of a magus, rather than a bee.” Were Rovena awake, this would be painful. Eboni is slowly, meticulously, regrowing the tissue, reattaching it. The finger upon the wound coaxes the nerves into life once more, and the stygian continues to weave her web of flesh and muscle, like a spider to her web.
The wounds slowly close, others open but you all are able to keep it in check. Then Rovena suddenly gestures to Vanessa. She is casting a very powerful frost bolt. Hopefully the wards hold …..
The Dui’s anima swirls begin to change into glowing fibers that now begin dancing on Rovena’s epidermis theres no change in the anima transference.. just how it looks coming out of Dui almost as if she has grown numerous roots that extend from her hand. each root on Rovena skin glows in amber and sparks with a an almost electric shock like static
Eboni is just as meticulous with the wound at Rovena’s thigh; the puncture leaving not even the faintest hint of a marking. Thankfully, at the moment, they’ve time to focus on such things, though. The muscles begin to reconnect, and soon, he flesh reseals the wound, before the nerves reignite.
The glowig amber light under Dui’s camisole brightens into an almost pure white
“Fuck.” Emily grits her teeth and start channeling energy into the wards, “Wards are straining a bit.”
Just in time, Nessa notices Rovena’s fingers twitch and realizes the import. With a gasp, she reaches out and pins Rovena’s hand to the gurney, trying to aim it away from anyone in the room, just in case the wards don’t hold.
Dui healing of the cells is not directly aided by Dui’s anima channeling but this anima augments the energy at the cellular level which should increase cellular regen time…
“Can we repair them, Emily?” Ebony maintains a calm presence throughout it all. She’s focused on the task at hand.
A hemmatite stone falls from Dui’s skirt again denting the floor with a loud thud
“Do you have another stone, Dui?” Eboni asks, then, looking to the redhead.
“Holy shit… that’s two.” Dui curses. “Eight more on that strand..”
“No damage yet, they’re just under a lot of stress. I’m putting more energy into them.” Emily informs them.
“I couldn’t ask for a better group of people.” Eboni says with a grin towards those around her. “You guys are really keeping your cool and doing everything beyond expectation. I’m impressed. Just a bit longer, and we’ve got this.”
“Thank you, Emily.” Nessa continues working on Rovena’s less dangerous wounds, continuing to use modern medicine techniques and leaving the Anima channeling to Eboni and Dui. She tries not to be distracted by Julia’s performance, but she does occasionally glance over, impressed.
Eboni pulls back, out of Vanessa and Dui’s way as she finishes repairing the harsh wounds. “If I ever start to die, or go into a coma, what say we reform this little merry band and you guys go in and save me, eh?”
Dui seeming a bit nervous since the second stone fell she blurts out “Just for the record…I’ve never done this this long…” she blows air across her lips making a fluttering sound and continues to channel.
“But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it.” Eboni says, retrieving another stone for Dui, should it be available.
The rythem continues on, a consistent and un-blemished stream of sound. the ‘Thump-Thump-Rattle” seemed to reverberate off her lithe figure entirely as harmonization peaked.
Dui nods to Eboni “I have a strand on my hip. I have eight more on that strand..”
“I have never done anything like this eit…no. No, I have. When Kyle was in a coma. But I…I concur with the assessment that this is a competent team. We will all do what we can.” Vanessa says.
The wounds get treated as they should and with Dui’s efforts Rovena’s animal levels stay stable. After the elemental attack a short grin showed on Rovena’s face.
SYNC POINT 5
“Oh, please do not do that. She does not realize what she is doing…” Vanessa says.
“C’mon…I’m not serious..” Eboni says, and pops another pip of chocolate into her mouth.
“I’m pretty sure that was a joke.” Emily says.
The temperature around Kyle has dropped a degree for a while, and then it fades away, so does the pain on his face. His hands unclench.
Another, warmer smile shows on Rovena’s face and she looks over to Kyle as if she can see him with closed eyes. But then is back to normal.
“And looks like the wards are okay, for now.” Emily updates them.
Eboni watches Kyle at he offers the subtle movements. The green eyes study him for the briefest of moments, before looking back to Rovena.
“…Oh.” Nessa moves over to check on Kyle, relieved as she can’t see any wounds, and gently squeezes his shoulder in silent support before returning to work on Rovena’s wounds.
For Arianwen the checking of the readings and adjusting of the machinery is no longer a matter of keeping things running at optimum efficiency, now it’s about trying to anticipate the surges from within the dreamscape in time to dial the sensitivity of the dreambridge up and down, maintaining the connection but reducing the feedback harming the dreamers helpless bodies. Neither plain blue left eye or glowing augmetic right blink as she pushes her occult technology to its limits with a mix of frantic concern and eager exhilaration.
There is a longer quiet phase and Rovena’s expression turns sad, she even starts to cry. Her anima levels are going crazy again. It looks a bit like when new bees have huge emotions and are unable to control themselves.
“She hit the wards again, not as hard this time. Everything’s holding.” Emily informs them.
The amber roots extending from Dui’s hand settle into a consistent sway and billow along Rovena’s hand and wrist. The amber sparks settling into a rhythmic beat with along with the rattle
“Huh.” Eboni remarks, watching Rovena’s face. “And she can’t hit us from here?”
Nessa reaches out with a moist towlette, brushing the tears from her cheeks, and returns to monitoring the woman’s progress and vitals.
At that Dui snorts.
“I didn’t say that” Emily clarifies.
Dui points with a single finger at Ebony “If you make me laugh and I lose this connection …I’m telling her it’s your fault.” Dui jests at Eboni.
“Alright, well…” Eboni’s lithe fingers begin to weave interlocking patterns in the air before her, as a pentacle is woven out of green energy, resembling serpents. “That’s perfectly fine.” She says to Dui. “I’m preparing this in case she suddenly has a meltdown. It should hopefully protect us.”
Dui’s eyes widen as the tension in the room seems to have settled and the players seem to have come to a bonding moment “I’m only joking… "
I know, dear.” Eboni replies as the serpents continue to slither about the pentacle. “Steady her!”
“Please. Something to pillow her head. Steady her, but do not hold her down or you may cause her to tear muscles or ligaments or dislocate joints.” Nessa gently pillows Rovena’s head in her hands, trying to keep the woman from getting a concussion accidentally.
Eboni reaches for the soft doeskin bag, and it moves to her hand, from across the room. “Use this. It’s soft and can be pillowed up.” With one hand maintaining the pentacle, the other offers it to Vanessa.
“Thank you.” Vanessa slides the doeskin bag under Rovena’s head, then moves to steady the rest of the woman’s body, making sure Rovena doesn’t fling herself off of the table.
The static amber sparks settle into a continuous flow of anima as Rovena and her bee calls for it..
SYNC POINT 6
After a bit, Rovena seems fine again, Kyle on the other hand …
Kyle’s body tempature drops, the air around him getting quite cold. His jaw sets his face taking on the look Dui and Vanessa will recognize when he’s out in the field in a fight and a burn wound appears on his left forearm.
“Shit…Kyle injured…Nessa…” Dui shouts.
Vanessa hurries over to Kyle’s side, checking his vitals before she returns to her backpack. There she retrieves her can of burn gel and what looks like a very compact thermal blanket and several chemical heating packs.
Eboni’s gaze jerks to the man, as a concerned expression crosses her features. “You’re invaluable, Miss Sinclair.” She says after watching her go for her supplies.
“Vanessa he’s likely to get more.. I know that set to his jaw.” Dui says.
“I see it.” She activates the chemical heating packs, making sure Kyle’s clothing is between them and his skin, placing a pair under his armpits, one between his legs against the femoral arteries, and one on his sternum. Then she quickly spreads burn salve over the wound before tucking the thermal blanket around Kyle’s body.
Kyle’s wounds keep getting worse a bit, sure the treatment is helping him but it looks like whatever is burning him over there is still on his skin. Then it stops, looking quite bad.
“I wish we could see what was happening…” Says, rather annoyed, before looking to Kyle now. “I’m not one to interfere, doctor, but if you can’t remove those burns, I’ll assist. I’ve an idea for them.”
At the same moment Jessica’s heart rate is increasing again, she draws more anima.
Dui starts to choke as the smell of burning flesh fills the room “OH god.”
Nessa frowns worriedly, then closes her eyes and focuses her thoughts, her hands glimmering gold as she gently rests them on each burn she can see, resting them a moment before moving onto the next. “I can assist Kyle, at least…”
“Oh, Jesus.” Emily mutters, turning her attention to Jessica.
“Focus on him, Vanessa. Emily, can you try to stabilize Jessica, and I’ll keep close to Rovena.” Eboni directs them.
The look on Kyle’s face is one of pain and battle pissed off annoyance, like he’s glaring at whatever is hurting him.
“I have Jessica.” Emily replies in a distant voice as she slides her consciousness into Jessica.
“Thank you. Both of you.” Vanessa says.
Rovena starts to get a few bruises and light burns as well. She starts chanting exoticisms in Latin.
“Exorcisms. Hm.” Eboni runs a hand over the burns first, moving to drain the heat out of the wounds, to cool and heal the flesh. “Is there anyone else down this hallway behind us?”
“Latin, Latin she’s chanting in Latin..” Dui says excitedly not having heard actual latin in a few years except when aroud Solomon, which is rare because he treats her like a child
“No. Just a big, empty room.” Emily says.
“Good.” The heat that Eboni drains from the wounds is released as a spinning vortex of fire into the empty room, dissipating once it reaches the center.
“And it’s all concrete, nothing flammable.” Emily adds.
“I suppose I should have asked that first.” Eboni says, with a grin cast towards Emily.
Nessa blinks at Eboni’s tactic, looking very impressed. “That is…very impressive.”
“Eboni those are some really neat tricks.” Dui agrees.
“Does it help if I chant in Latin?” Eboni asks, offhand.
“Is that necessary?” Vanessa asks.
“Beata Maria, Et tibit Pater..” A pause. “No.” Eboni chuckles. “It’s for flavor. Verbo et opere..” She unleashes another, smaller spout of fire into the backroom. “Like fire, Hellfire, this fire in her skin…” She paraphrases the Disney classic.
Due to Eboni’s tricks Rovena is mostly spared of burn wounds. But that does not help Jessica. Suddenly burns show on her body as if she was engulfed in demonic flames for a short moment.
SYNC POINT 7
“Are any of you skilled in fire elementalism?” Eboni asks.
Dui a third Hemmatite stone falls from Dui’s trand of stones “Oh wow.. three now..”
Emily snarls as though she takes personal offence at Jessica’s burns and starts to trickle anima into the damaged flesh, healing it with unaccustomed slowness.
“I am not skilled in elementalism, I am afraid.” Vanessa says.
“Anima based elementalism is a synch but I think you’re asking about magic based?” Dui asks.
As if without exhaust, Julia continues the consistent beat of the enhanced and amplified rhythm, standing still all the while.
“Mhm. If you are skilled with fire, you can absorb that like I just did, to project outwards..” Eboni explains.
Whatever Nesssa is doing will likely heal the wound on Kyle’s arm and his body temperature slowly returns to normal.
Dui’s jaw drops “Seriously….holy crap why didn’t they tell us that.”
Very slowly Jessica’s wounds close again. What ever Jessica did she got out of the flames in time.
As Kyle’s body temperature returns to normal, she removes the chemical heating packets and the thermal blanket, setting them to one side in case they’re needed again.
Emily scowls, “I’ll have to try that.”
Eboni begins the slow process of evening out the bruises, by using the pooled blood in them to even out the blood, and repair the vessels. “You got this..”
Dui mumbles “Maybe I shouldn’t have stopped pestering Eboni for magic lessons.”
All three stabilize again, they are in a stressful state, vitals not perfect but not too worrying either.
“Despite my seeming age and youthful appearance, I have been doing this for some time, dear.” Eboni chuckles, and casts an eye towards the other two patients. “Besides, I’m able to focus so, because everyone has each others’ back.”
Nessa breathes a sigh of relief, checking all three dreamers’ vital signs and taking the chance to breathe before the next crisis hits.
“Are these readings good, Vanessa?” Eboni looks to the screens and the vital monitors.
Dui stretches her leg out hooks her foot about a nearby chair scoots it toward herself and sits in it not breaking her link with Rovena “Oh that’s better.”
“They will survive. They will likely be in pain when they awaken, but we can tend their injuries more thoroughly once we know their full extent and that we will not be interfering with what is going on…” Vanessa responds.
“Well we can do anima based healing then yes?” Dui asks.
“At that point normal healing should be fine.” Emily responds.
“Yes, once the intervention is finished. I do not wish to interfere with Arianwen’s equipment any more than necessary.” Vanessa agrees.
SYNC POINT 8
And just like that, Kyle’s body starts jerking. Small shocks that stop and start like he’s being zapped repeatedly.
In the exact same moment, when the shock hits Kyle, Rovena’s Anima levels spike critically. The medical instruments beep loud warnings as they seem to record a stroke in progress.
Eboni watches Rovena’s face for moment, before resting a hand at her forehead. Feeling to see if there is, indeed, clotted blood within. “Emily, come here, please. You’re a blood specialist. Correct?”
“Eboni, tend to Rovena. Emily, help her if Ms. Vanderbilt does not need assistance. I have Kyle.” Vanessa suggests.
Emily nods, withdrawing herself from Jessica and moving to Rovena. “Jessica’s okay at the moment.” Emily lays a hand on Rovena and looks distant as she syncs herself with the German’s vascular system.
Nessa’s hands move over Kyle’s chest and arms, tracing the muscle spasms and trembling slightly, her poise faltering at this turn of events. She takes a shuddering breath, trying to focus herself into enough calm that she can summon the glow to her trembling hands again.
“I’m localizing the clots, keeping them from spreading currently. Can you ease them out, please? Drain the blood and save her life.” Eboni says.
There is indeed blood clumping up at several spots in the German’s brain. This is not from an injury and they seem to be placed by an expert, aiming for redundancy and to cause the brain to take as much damage as possible.
“Yep.” Emily nods as she starts dissolving the clots in Rovena’s bloodstream and forcing open constricted blood vessels.
Kyle’s shocks subside quite quickly and at the same time, Jessica seems to look stronger, her vitals get better what was left of her wounds heals faster.
“Oh, so that’s what you’re trying, you bastard” Emily starts trying to counter the damage.
“What exactly is it within her?” She asks Emily, then.
essa brushes her hands over Kyle’s Chakra points, gently trying to soothe any damage the shocks might have caused to his system trusting for the trio tending to Rovena to do what’s needed to help her.
“Blood mage. Going after her brain. Trying to be a little too subtle about it. " Emily explains.
The roots penetrate the skin of Rovena’s hand and a sudden surge of Anima pulses along the neural net that is Rovena’s peripheral nervous system. Traveling into her central nervous system along the way shielding the neurons from damage.
“And…and you can help her?” Nessa tosses Emmy a worried look, obviously out of her depth.
Emily’s efforts succeed in preventing the damage so far and getting a few of the clots out. One after the other but it takes time, probably more than they are comfortable with.
“I gathered that much, but is it a…special enemy, or merely something in the dream?” Eboni asks.
“I can repair it as fast as they can damage it. Unclot. Dilate. Must be in the dream. I don’t recognize the technique though.” Emily says.
“It’s a favored tactic of my own, but I think they may have spread too fast with only one person working to stop them. I couldn’t have done it without you.” Eboni offers an encouraging smile.
Emily nods, her eyes fixed on the middle distance. “I usually tear things apart.”
“Show me sometime?” Eboni asks, tilting her head a bit.
The shocks that empower Jessica stop and slowly they manage to save Rovena and get her back to a more stable state. Vanessa treating Kyle makes him better too.
SYNC POINT 9
“This dreamscape stuff is fascinating…you know entire souls in them and never return to their bodies.” Dui says.
“Sometimes…things which cause damage in larger doses can be used to heal in smaller ones. I would imagine it is the same with blood magic.” Vanessa says.
“I’m always curious to see others’ methods at play.” Eboni says.
Emily turns her head and smiles in Eboni’s direction, “Sure. I’m pretty sure my technique gives Mr. Lancaster hearburn.”
“He’s an old codger. Eating too late gives him heartburn.” Eboni says with a smirk.
Dui snickers “I think Mr. Lancaster makes shit up as he goes along.”
“He’s one of the most skilled wizards I’ve met, in my time, and one of only a number I can count on one hand, that I’d consider an equal.” Eboni adds.
“Course when I asked him to explain magic one day and how to do it.. he said something like “Just imagine it.” Dui tells.
Emily nods and starts to pull back a little now that the crisis seems to have passed, she blinks and her eyes refocus.
