OOC: TSW Character Meme - Day One - Basics

Some time ago the TSW Character Meme (original tumblr deleted but posts mirrored on TSW-Meme Tumblr ) was a thing in the roleplay community. For those who missed it, it basically is a set of 30 writing tasks that highlight different aspects of your character.

I missed out at that time, mostly because I did not feel comfortable to make a lot things public about my characters background after a very bad experience with meta-gaming in the past. But the TSW-RP-Community is very friendly compared to past communities I was engaged in and I am in writing mood again so I decided to do the Meme thing now. Also its a good way to get content in the blog ;-)

Day One - Basics

We’re going to start off easy by getting some of your character’s basic information out of the way. What’s their full name? Do they have any nicknames or secret identities? What’s their alias/codename? What faction did they choose? How old are they? When’s their birthday? Describe their past life? Add any information that you think is relevant and isn’t covered in the other posts. Also feel free to add photos where necessary.

Full Name

Rovena’s full name is Dr. Anna Rovena Treublatt. Her full name is only used in her German passport and other documents that are equally formal. She is serious about making sure it is pointed out that the normally used name is Rovena. She will refer to it usually as her first name even if its technically her middle name. Calling her Anna is a good way to make her angry. The only people she allows to use that name are friends and family that know her longer than 13 years or to be more precise before the death of her grandma.

There is a longer backstory to this but that is material for one or more longer post so I will cover it later.

Her title is earned in Archeology, the thesis was about simulation ancient battlefields. After that work she only rarely participated in the scientific community.

Nickname

Rovena is called Rov as abbreviation by some of her friends. While she only rarely ever uses abbreviations of others names she does not mind it when her name is abbreviated. She does not have a real nickname. Well maybe one:

Person: “Do you have a nickname?”
Rovena: “No, I don’t need one, it’s just Rovena.”
Person: “But if I wanted to not call you by your name, what would I use?”
Rovena: Straight faced and serious “Mistress.”

Secret Identities

Rovena uses usually clean and new forged identities for under cover operations that don’t leave connection to previous jobs and get burned afterwards. Still there are a few she maintains and uses occasionally for private things or black-ops even the Phoenix Group or Templar should know about.

Codename

She does not use a codename. While FireQueen may be her official registered codename for Phoenix group operations she is always referred to as Director.

Faction

Rovena was recruited by the Templar in her first year at university. She spend her free time and weekends training for the hall

Since she is Director of the Phoenix group Rovena is stripped of most her privileges and in return does not has to officially report about the Groups business.

Birthday & Past life

Rovena was born on 6th of May in 1984 in Frankfurt Germany into a wealthy and ambitious family.

Education:

After finishing her doctorate Rovena founded the company “Historic Battlefield simulations GmbH” with Dr. Nils Hagenkötter. Together they had worked on the software that lead to both their doctorates and now the company tried to sell the simulation software to universities.

They did not had much luck until they caught the attention of a BND (Bundesnachrichtendienst) Agent who realized that the software would be quite capable for mission planing with a few changes and additions. They invested a few Millions in the company and soon versions for the military and police units came out in beta. Only a handful of units were granted access, of course all allied to Germany and ready to spend Billions just for beta access.

Pushed by the Templar Rovena implemented modules that added magic and filth contamination to the simulation. After the Tokyo incident the company was shut down by the CoV. Rovena is rumored to have secured a lot fortune before that happened and in fact her family seems to be quite on the rise.

The official reason for the shutdown is that the software could be used to calculate things like the bomb in Tokyo, rumors are that it was done to shut down a valuable Templar asset by the other two societies.

The Templar transfered herh to the Taran Guard to eventually put her military and leadership training to use and help to build the military company that was so loosely associated with the hall, that it could do black-ops and work closely with other faction teams fight the filth infection.

Trying to find out what happened to her company and aiming to get more contacts in the CoV to eventually get rid on the crazy regulations that were put on her use of her own software she volunteered as investigator for the council.

Eventually Kyle Daklan recruited her for the Phoenix Group. First she worked for them as Consultant and after the death of Simone Daklan she took over the position of Director.
